The sulphur smell from the exhaust, is actually caused by running the engine/cat convertor slightly lean for long periods and then running under a rich condition (ie going up a hill under heavy load) This is when the sulphur smell (rotten egg) is produced.

Under relatively lean conditions, the sulphur found in gasoline is converted to sulphur trioxide, then during the rich running condition the sulfur trioxide is converted into hydrogen sulphide (rotten egg smell) within the catalytic converter.
damn...i dont even have to goto my chem lecture anymore.

so im assuming it is just normal, i wouldnt sweat it too much.

I get that too, I assume tires But what worries me is that it was doing the same smell when my tranny self destructed.

It could be the cat. or maybe the muffler rattling. I'm betting the cat. went south on you. I don't know the answer, but would it be a simple as taking it off to check for a rattle?

lol, I don't think it's related. My new tranny has shown no signs of wear, it's awesome. When my tranny was on its last day and would refuse to shit at anything more than light throttle I just wailed on the car to **** up the tranny...after about 5 mins of this it wouldnt even shift unless I did it manually (and then it did it really slowly). 2nd gear was not gonna happen in either case/ When I got out and looked underneath the car it smelled sooo bad, lol.
