Lets start off by saying I love my car.. But she isn't that beautiful.. Her name is Ulga for a reason.. If anyone can help me diagnose my car from my bad explanations of what she does, I'd appreciate it. Ok....
Number 1) Steering is extremely loose, when turning left, it doesn't return to an upright position, but it does when I turn right.. People say it feels like no power steering, but its easy to turn at slow speeds still.. So I doubt that...

2) She murders tires like she's PMSing, already lost a new tire after about 5k miles(front right), and the other front is about to go out too... It has a LOT of wear on one side of the tire...

3)Sometimes its hard to put her into 2nd when shifting quickly...

4)She shakes at 55, 65, and pretty much any 5 passed that.

5) How much/how hard is it to put in a new axle if thats the problem?? Control arm??

 

Sounds like an alignment issue. The toe sounds to be out of spec. That would explain the steering, inside wear on tires, and possibly the shaking. Try that first and then if it is still shaking, replace the axles. It isn't really that hard if you are mechanically inclined with a good DIY.

If you got time and some tools, it's not hard and you'll save quite a bit of money. If not, Mineke or any garage could do it really.

 

To me it sounds like alignment problem too. Rotate and balance the tires (If they are still alive and usable) and get the car aligned.

alignment issue. if you are still under warranty. bring it back to the dealer and make them fix it for you. there should be no reason whey your car runs like that.

 

alignment, the toe is off. if the shaking at higher speeds doesn't go away after the alignment, try having the tires balanced.
