Default Dashboard/Tail Light problem

My dashboard and tail lights, at the same time, flicker on and off. It is random at times but sometimes it is caused pressing on the turn signal stick. Can anyone give me any suggestions to what might be wrong?

Thanks

My dashboard and taillights also stopped working today, but neither will work at all. It happened after my factory deck stopped working, and i took it out and tried to install a sony deck i had from my other car. My headlights still work, and so do my turn signals. I am hoping i do not have a major wiring problem.

It would help if you told us what car you had.

If it's a 6th gen V6, change the alternator.

Default car

yea, sorry about that - i forgot to mention what kind of car i have.

I have a 1994 Accord LX Sedan.

I took a look at the dashboard/tail light problem more closely. I think it has to do with the circuitry on the dashboard or maybe the column switch itself. Turning the light switch on at certain times will light up my dashboard, steering column, and tail lights but othertimes all those lights will stay off.

My mechanic said it would take a couple of hours to fix (aka few hundred bucks). Would it be better to buy a replacement column switch and install it instead of hunting for the loose connection in my steering column or dashboard?

Thanks.
