Mine starts to reek after about 35k miles because of all the crap that gets in the filter and gets moldy or whatever. Kinda smells like urine. But yeah, like they said, every 30k. Very easy thing to install, Jschmid did a great write up.
when i changed my cabin filter it was a pain in the rear.
There is a bar that runs horizontal to the floor that you have to remove in order to take out the filter.
I had a huge problem removing my glove box.
