Default What is this? & Code 12....

This is on the right/driver side of the h22a intake manifold. I have looked at other pics of h22 but haven't seen a close up on this. I just wonder why the hose doesn't go anywhere. I had a code 12:insuffecient egr valve lift and just replaced my egr valve yesterday. Then I get the cel come on again I jumped the connecter to read the code and it was a 12. I hope its just the mechanic didn't clear the code. It came on last night on way home and again on way to work.
Also the car drives just fine, lots of power vtec kicks etc..

They look like vacuum hoses...where are there missing hoses on the intake manifold/other vacuum hoses?

uhhh that bronze thing your pointing at is part of the EGR so that explains code 12.

i cant really tell from the pics where that hose is coming from but try looking on the drive side end of intake manifold and see if theres an open nipple

no open nipples.
The egr valve is on the passenger side, the pictures are from the driver side it kinda looks like a mini egr valve

Cleared the cel and it kicks back on after driving for awhile.

could it be to much backpressure my cat clogged up?
could it possibly be the egr solenoid that controls the egr valve?
could it be the hose on thingie should go somewhere?

yeah the EGR valve lift sensor is on the passenger side but, i think that is the EGR vacuum control valve but im not totally sure. if it is there should be an EGR control solenoid valve right next to it. the only other thing that i can think of that has a vacuum in that area is the FIA (fuel injection air) control solenoid valve.

trace the two nipples on the front side of the intake manifold down one should go to the FPR and one should go to a y-shapd hard line that goes to the EGR vac. control valve and from the EGR vac control valve a it connects to the EGR control solenoid valve returns back to the other side of y-pipe.

this is off the top of my head and from my f22.. sorry im not a very good drawer in paint.

have you tried cleaning your EGR ports? those tend to get clogged after some time.

ill see if i can find a vacuum hose diagram i saved a while ago.
