I wish I could find the link, ahh!

Like I said before, it can make power but you need a dyno.
There was this guy running a white 97 Acura CL 2.2 I think...he purchased the intake, header, and brosal or dynatech or something exhaust and the pulley's plus the came gear. He then paid for a dyno tune and he did find that with 2 degree of cam rotation he found some power, but it was a torque or HP curve shift at key points. He gave a little and got a little more on the curve in return. I think his entire package made 16-18hp at the wheels with a similiar gain in torgue...that's not bad if you get the parts at good prices. He never opened the engine up-- just bolt ons.

Reading the curve is the only way you will find the 2-3hp gain or torque gain you need. He also had an adjustable fuel pressure regulator too. Nothing fancy just a simple B&M unit with a homemade fuel pressure gauge under the hood for tuning.

He did later add an FMAX turbo but the early results were still neat to see documented.

I should've known better... stickers always get the pussy.

It's SOHC, you can't set lift and duration between Intake and exhaust?

Lift is set by the grind......you can only degree the cam?

Yup. That's why people put CL-S cams in the J30A1...Honda did kind of a whack job on the stock cams. No torque down low because one of the intake valves is almost completely closed below 3500 RPM, and it's not like I get good gas mileage anyway.

I'm working on GM's new Variable Cam Timing (VCT) 3.9L V6...veeeeery cool stuff. I hope Honda comes out with an i-VTEC V6 (i meaning VCT, not VCM or whatever) for the next generation J series engine.

hondadriver22: www.helminc.com, which could have been found by using the (I know it's obscure and difficult to use, but bear with me) google.com search engine.
