Point is, I wasted about $750 on boltons. My AEM intake, DC header, Helix and GReddy Exhaust. All quality components, no doubt, and when all used together I got maybe between 15-20 horsepower over stock.

But you gotta think of other things, which parts cause what loss where? My AEM intake destroys torque which Accords badly need, my GReddy exhaust imposes backpressure (I'm sure anyways... It's a single muffler design, btw) which further lowers torque. etc. I wish I would've taken that $750 and got some HIDs or something like 98Coupe said.

With all that said, NO ONE LOVES AN ACCORD THAT MUCH to waste $500-1000 for like .5 seconds off your 1/4. Well... I guess I did.

so what you guys are saying is that even if i did add Nitrous and Turbo, my accord still will not do 0-60 in under 6sec or even 7??? if thats what your saying then maybe i should sell my car, but my plan was never to be that guy who can destroy whatever car i wanted on the highway, just to sound good, look good and have decent power, (200-250hp) ive ordered all of my parts on ebay so ive spent under $500

AEM CAI
Illegal CAT
Muffler
Wires, plugs
Pulleys
Headers

with that said, do you have any affordable (-600dollars) products you recommend i add, (other than turbo, H22, Nitrous) ive heard of those hondatas, venom chips, jetchips, on the searches but it seems like they wont do anything unless i get my car dyno tuned, and there is none of that around here. do you think a meineke or pepboys type-place can dyno tune??? jw

Nah. Pepboys isn't going to be able to do shit for you. You're going to have to go to a non-national chain performance tuning place.

I have the SRI which has noticeably increased my low end torque and horsepower...I can go up some hills in 4th that I used to have to downshift for

Yeah, it's not worth it. Unless you're dumb, IMO, or completely obsessed with your car.

If you get n2o and turbo, you would be 6/7 seconds in 0-60. Actually, n2o isnt that expensive and you would get about 50whp (about 62hp) depending on how much youre using.

Edit: Come to think about it, n2o is pretty much your only option to get some good gains for about 600 bux

I have the CAI.

What's this about downshifting automatics? Don't you preach against that? lol. (Yes, I realize Honda lets us shift from 4th to 3rd without using the button for a reason.)

If you're gonna do anything to your car, do the things that make the driving experience better....maybe some leather seats, better stereo, HIDs, etc. Don't spend $800 on your engine to get 10 or 12 horsepower. What's the point? I don't understand.
you don't know how bad i wanted to say that! :irock:

I've dumped thousands of dollars into my car in the suspension, rims, bodykit, etc. but I've spent little if nothing on the engine. I'd say if you want a cam gear--go for it, but be sure you get a good one and know why you would want a cam gear.

As for Nitrous, it seams like a real quarter mile tool and I'm not sure the Accord is a true qtr. mile threat. I'd be sure the tranny is up to it first manual or auto.

I've also had the pleasure of driving many turbo charged Accords, thanks to some very generous owners. And I'd say as awesome as the rush is, more often then not the setup is never done being tuned...and I'd rate even the best as 8 out of 10 for streetability. As for fun 4cyl. I'd still rate the H22 Lude as the best with the manual TSX in second. I wouldn't swap a 6th gen either I'd sell the car and purchase a used Lude my self.

If your Accord is used, and I'd say most of them around here are.....I'd really dump every penny I could first into fixing the parts that keep the car running. I'd replace all the belts, hoses, plugs, wires, etc. And not with speed parts just good old fashioned new stuff from Autozone or what ever. Then replace everything that needs fixed on the suspension, new bushings (if needed), if your shocks are junk buy new ones and they don't have to be ubber Koni's to improve the ride. Then instead of replacing the exhaust or intake, get the car cleaned up. Fix the carpet if needed, replace seat fabric or headliners if needed. And if you can't polish a car to new car detail pay someone to do it for you.

Clean up the ride first, make it mechanically sound, then and only then dump money into tuning it. If you can't start the car everyday and drive it to work, school, etc. faithfully you might as well own a POS or something.

Sorry for the long rant.
