How do you figure that? The 4th and 5th gens were mechanically the same (for the most part) Furthermore, some of the bugs that plagued the 4th gen (such as in the inition switches, distributors and Main Fuel Relays) had been pretty well worked out in the 5th generation. I do prefer the 4th gen body style and interior to the 5th gen (even though I own a 5th gen) but style is a matter of personal taste, so the point is moot. The 6th gens had some problems with the auto trannies (carrier bearings) but were otherwise just as good.

yes. But the 4th gen looks more like a 6th gen than a 5th gen does. I have both(a 6th and a 4th). Sit them right next to each other. The head and tail lights are barely diffrent. The Gauge cluster is set up the same(unlike the 5th gen which is completely diffrent). Given the diffrences in the 5th and similarities of the 4th and 6th basicly the 6th is an updated 4th.

I agree to a point because I have a 3rd and a 6th gen and see some similarities between the two. The reason Honda does this so you can recognize the car as an Accord but the 5th gen is like the step child of the Accords atleast from the 3rd gen to present, it doesn't look like any of them but is still a nice car to own

Thats somthing i can agree on myself. I wasnt downing the 5th some of the cleanest accords i have ever seen were 5th gens. Its a very nice car. Its just is out of place among the other gens.

Not true, the 3rd generation Accords looked completely different than the 4th generation. The 4th generation Accords had a more modern appearance and still do. It appears the 6th generation Accords body is based on the 4th generation.

3rd gen front were different while the rear ends were almost the same. the rear end of the sedans can almost look similiar to a 6th gen's rear.
