Default rebuilt tranny or used?

hey guys as you might know ma Auto tranny just went bad at 50k on my 98 accord now i have a choice of gettin a used tranny for 900 bux (they say low miles like 35-45K) but you can never know if thats ture and i have a choice of gettin a rebuild transmission from autozone for 850 with 1 year warranty on it which one do you guys think is good. do the rebuild ones last better cuz i was assuming if i get a used tranny that might fit in the cattagory that honda had extended the warranty and have problems again.

You should bitch and complain to your nearest honda dealership, because having a tranny go out @ 50k miles is completely 100% not your fault. Plus 800+ chucks is a lot of money you would save.

Yeah bitch at your Honda dealer dude...my tranny went at 150k and I replaced it with an ebay bought 33k mile tranny. I bought that for $700, so both prices you gave are too high.

And no, if you get a used tranny they will not cover it. Mine is from a 2000.

thats bs, i hate those customer care ppl. i can't offer any tips cuz my own attempts to deal with those ppl ended up with my just getting mad. they are rude, and not helpful in any way. my experience atleast. also, who said it looks like your car has been raced? the dealer or the customer care ppl?

what happend was that i had called the honda dealer and asked them if i could bring the car in so they could check out they problem on my tranny they said yes and i towed it all the way up to the dealer instead of driving and causing more damage to it they told me that my car was having transmission problems and that i had to take it back to the transmission shop to get it fixed i paid freakin 80 bux to get my car just towed to honda and they refused the service it you know. so while i was bitchin at the customre care they customer care and lady was on the other line questioning both side me and the dealer and i guess the dealer told them that just by looking at my car they could tell that my car was being raced basicaly accusing me of doing something that i haven't done.

that's BS dude.....Hope it works out for you. You could also consider a manual tranny swap though if dealing with Honda fails
