Anyone? I seen these 3rd,4th and some 5th gen Accord has some rust problem right next to rear quater panel, especially near the gas cap area. Why is always on that spot? How can you prevented?

 

The reason why it is always there is because dirt gets trapped in the inner fender under the rubber fender liner, I learned this the hard way on my 3 gen. The easiest way is to prevent rust is to remove the rubber fender liner and when you wash your car always clean inside the inner fender so far my Integra that I purchased new in 97 still looks perfect and my 6 gen even though its not that old is looking good also.

 

A local body shop told me that he has seen a few 6th gens with the same rust issue... the way the panels are joined together inside lets moisture sit in a certain spot and eventually starts rusting through the quarter panel.

 

I see this little device on the net. Its some sort of eletronic anti rust you mount on your engine bay area.
