I was just asking where the redline, (I should of said rev limiter), was at, but since now we're talking about shift points, I like to shift right before the limit, say like 6500rpm cause when I speed shift I could throw it into gear before it hits the limiter, I know the powerband but I just like to keep my rpms up, besides I don't even race my accord, Im waiting until I get my H22 in a couple of months, so I could care less if I blow this motor, which I won't cause Honda's last forever. I used to run my RSX T-S-(R.I.P, Accident) to 8600rpm all day and never had 1 problem.

5500rpms is the max hp on a 2.2L vtec motor.

Once you start doing mods, you raise your red-line. I have an f22, and in the right weather, Ive sometimes hit around 6800 before redlining. But its true, the f22 has its max hp around 5300. So going too far past that doesn't do much exept get the engine reving fast for the next gear.

ok here is my question. i have a slow motion automatic and when i am about to hit 80mph the rpm hits exactly 6k at 80mph then it switch gears right there exactly at 6k which is righ before redline. is this normal or is it supposed to change gear earlier? i think my o2 got disconnect some how but dont know if this has anything to do with it.

if you punch it there is a possibility it has actually downshifted to a lower gear (usualy you cruise in 3rd or 4th) just so it will accelerate faster, then it switches to the next gear when it needs to

which is exactly the reason you will not reach 140 and a reason autos suck

i think the top speed of the car is around 120-125 so you wont hit 140 with out some serious power adders
no chance in hell, not even if it's manual
