Accord 4 cyl Gas milage.
My 99 accord Highway Gas milage is 27 miles per gallon. Is it very low or just normal for a car with 50,000 miles in it? Any suggestion how to improve gas milage? I service my car regularly.

That's good enough. As far as getting better gas milage, run a couple of tanks of Shell-brand VPOWER Gasoline (it's the 93 octane), or any premium brand with fuel injector cleaner already in it and then switch back to 87 or whatever. I run through a couple of tanks of premium every 3 months or so.

Depends on the speed
Note how much the RPM's go up between 54-55mph and 60, it may be as much as 500rpms. I made a 90 mile trip on less than 2.5 gallons of gas going a bit under 55 mph. When I go 60-65, I get about 27-28.

My '00 Accord gets 33.6mpg (62,000mi) on the highway.
I use Castrol Syntec 5w-30 motor oil too, I think that helps.
I've had 33.6mpg since day one, my car is also a manual.
I have had a few long-long trips that have netted 40mpg but that's never getting off except for full.

I used to get 27-29 highway, but now I'm down to 24.5 or so...pisses me off. I cleaned out my carbon deposits with seafoam, replaced my air filter...still the same. I wish I had a CEL to explain it.

I have TL rims on the sister's 02 sedan in the summer, and she notices a drop in MPG during the summer months with the larger rims and stickier meats.
