Default Power Window prob

my driverside front window recently started acting like an ass. i had it all the way down and it wouldnt come up. the next day its still not coming up, im guessing that the motor is dead, but out of nowhere it goes up while im playin around with it. so it went about halfway up and did it again. Whats the prob? if the motor is gone it would have never came back up in the first place right?

I've had an issue like this before and it was related to the lubrication oil coming off the gear drive on the window motors.

If you oil the gears around the window motor and run it up and down a bunch it may fix itself.

I've this issue in the past on a Ford 350. Hope this helps.

The Accord helm's manual also explains how to trouble shoot a faulty power window.

I had an issue like this before, and its not the motor, if its coming up its ok, its the actual master switch itself. You can get a really cheap one off ebay, thats where i found mine and it worked like a charm.

for the second time my driver side window went down and wont come up but i can hear the power motor working so i took it to the shop n this freezing weather and we open it up and finally found out that the cable is braking and was not visible until we open the little motor and inside there the cable was already half broke so now i have to buy a new regulator since the motor is working. my advice for whoever find this problem is to buy the kit from autozone because they give u lifetime warranty compare to the ones on the internet and other stores, i just order the drive side regulator should be getting it on monday and it sucks to drive n the cold with the window down and lucky me i have a garage. this one that just broke is less than a yr old and i got it from the internet.

if you can hear the motor working, its most likely a shitty cable, if you can't hear the motor working, its either a bad switch or bad connection, it shouldn't be the motor if you said it just decided to kick back on one day

exact thing just happen to me. u need to stop bringin the window down before it wont go back up like it happen to me on friday night. is not the motor, is the cable that is starting to brake inside the motor kit and thats why it goes up slow until it wont go up at all. if i were u i would open the door and take out the regulator and motor kit and look and see if the cable is breaking, if is get the one from autozone lifetime waranty.

No,the window is binding up because the tracks or channel weatherstrip was not install correctly when you put the door back together. roll the window down, pull the weatherstrip up and out on both sides, make sure the window tracks are sitting in the same spots(look for old bolt marks),then spray some wd-40 in the tracks and on the back of the channel weatherstripping(this will make it alot easier to slide back down into tracks). then roll window up and stick your hands in the doors and make sure weatherstripping is pushed in the tracks all the way(you should feel it kinda snap into place). hope this helps.

you use the wb-40 on the back sides of the weatherstrip to help it slide back into the tracks. use the silicone inside the window tracks and regulator rack.
