LS Spec. Ed. AND Spoiler??
Hello,
Let me introduce myself. I am a senior Broadcast Meteorology major at Valparaiso University in northwest Indiana. I will be graduating in May.
Lately I have been doing a lot of driving in Chicago for my internship at WGN-TV. I have seen black '98-'02 Accord coupes without spoilers and I have seen black '98-'02 Accord coupes with the "Special Edition" shiny badge on the back.
1) Is it possible to get a '98-'02 Accord coupe which has both a rear spoiler *and* the "Special Edition" badge? Or do only EXs have spoilers?
2) What are the benefits of getting an EX instead of an LS?
Thanks for your help!
Chris

correct me if i'm wrong guys buy the only spec. edition you can get is the 02', it's just a base model with all the bells and whistles attached, the EX is a better car altogether, and youcan get it wth all the bells a whistles aswell
A spoiler is a dealer option, not a factory one, so you can put it on any model Accord you want.
The EX has standard options like leather, climate control, a better stereo, standard ABS, Rear Disk brakes, and more power There are also cosmetic differences like moonroof, allow rims vs hubcaps, body color moldings etc. This is all comparing the 4 cylinder models. The LX & EX V-6's both share teh same engine, ABS & front and rear disk brakes. The other differences are as I mentioned.

Special Edition is what Honda does before they introduce a new body style, in this case the 02 models. They are basically LX models with EX features like moonroof, alloys etc. However the EX model is the best. Sometimes they offer special paint colors too. You can get a spoiler on any model.
I hadn't noticed this until now, but why didn't Honda make a special edition coupe to go along with the special edition sedan back in 2000? I think those 00 Spec Edition rims would have looked nice on a coupe.
