im soooo gonna do this..
People finally got dynos of the G23 (F23/h23 hybrid) http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1052811
Yeah its time to finally have a fast accord. Fast as a prelude atleast
for thousands less then a turbo.
for my 00 accord, im gonna go from 116whp to 165whp 169wtq....rediculous

Its not that much work...its actually less work then a full h22 swap and a HELLUVA lot cheaper. And the hondata thing, there are cheaper ways of tuning your car then going to a shop and having them tune it. Some people have started developing kits for people to tune hondata's at home (saves you $100's).
But yeah, i was going to change my timing belt ($375) but im thinking about just buyin a h23 head and doing a full hybrid setup (about $500 in parts) instead of changing my belt. ooooo i cant wait, i caint i caint!
Yes, f22/h22 hybrid's were the first G2x engines! plus i heard it was slightly easier to mod f22's then f23's....good luck bro.

also, you do realize that he is running h22a4 pistons and the f23 block was overbored to 87mm. h22 pistons have a 10.1:1 compression ratio and with the h22 piston extra 6.3mm stroke and smaller h23 combustion chamber he calculated about 12.5:1 compression but it didnt fit in the head so he had to hone the chambers which lowered CR to 12:1 and with the head gasket he estimates about 12.25:1. do you know how difficult it is to tune a 12.25:1 CR on pumped gas? especially if your a noob trying to tune with uberdata (homemade kit). the higher the CR the less room for error. he is also in New Mexico and has 5500ft of elevation on his side.
you wont be able to do this frankenstein build under $500. the ecu/uberdata obd1 conversion setup with a wideband o2 will cost almost $500 alone. unless you have tons of parts lying around and cheap hookups at a machine shop it will cost way more. look at the donor list to build that engine:
1993 H23A1
head (modified combustion chambers), intake, distributor, wiring harness, timing belt components
2001 F23A5
block (bored to 87mm), crank, rods, alternator bracket, head gasket
1998 H22A4
pistons, pins, rings, rear engine mount
1993 H22A1
injectors, crank pulley, alternator, front engine mount, ignition coil, flywheel
1991 F22A1
water coolant pipe to mate with the H23 intake
199? F22?
left engine mount
199? D15?
ecu (modified)
not to mention all the gaskets, etc.. and that you need to plug oil drains in the block etc. etc..
the build is tight as hell but to the average joe its not as easy as it sounds and not as cheap as it looks.
Yeah, im not trying to say its a cake walk or anything. Im just saying its easier & cheaper then a full h22 swap for us 6th gen accord owners. And parts alone would be about 600 bux plus whatever cost for tuning (which i didnt add in the equation).
But yeah, i wanted to know if this would be street legal in cali. I wanted to have a lower CR if that were possible because i was going to keep the FI window open for later on.
