I think there might be something wrong with my steering.

I don't always do that, just lately because it felt weird.

Check your tire balance and alignment. Tire pressures are preferential for most people. For instance I run mine at 36 psi, much higher than most people do for plain old street use.

Nope! It was the air.

I checked all of the tires today because the weather had suddenly gotten very cold and this is what the tires were out of 30 PSI: 27, 25.5, 24, 27.

I filled all of them up to 30 again and now the steering wheel doesn't shake, and when I come out of a turn, completely smooth.

its my understanding that when you check your tire pressures, it should definitely be beFoRe driving, and if you have, less than 10 miles (or was it minutes...?). temperature of your tires makes a big difference to the pressure, so if youve been driving around a lot and checking the pressures immeditately following, dont expect those readings to be consistent. those things heat up pretty quick, even in cold weather.

I just thought of another question:

If the manual says 30 psi, but the tires say 40, which do you follow?

If you look at it again, it probably says that 40psi is the MAX psi, not the recommended psi. 30-34 should be good for the stock size tires.

Ah, I see. Thanks.

What do you have yours at? Would you want more in for winter or less? Or would it depend on what kind of roads you drive on too?
