Default big brake kit v.s. wheel clearance

hi,
i wanna get brembo brake kit for my 99 accord ex 4dr v6. i'm currently running 16"s on my car. there's one thing for sure, i gotta get 17" or larger wheels for either 313mm or 328mm kits, but is there any certain type of wheels can fit in brembo big brake kit? or most of the 17"s will do? even TSX or 02-03 TL-S wheels? i need at least a set of 17"s for winter tires (cuz 16"s won't fit the kit, well...if it does, that's even better) OEM ones would be the best choice (costwise).
does anyone has related experiences on big brake kit upgrade on 98-00 accord?

Most rims (17, 18, 19+) WON'T clear. You'll likely need to run on spacers, which is something that I'm not comfortable with. The problem is the spoke clearance/design. 17's will clear even the 328mm rotors, but the caliper thickness is where you'll encounter problems.

Oh, and for winter... hm... you're on your own on that one. You can swap your brakes back to stock during winter time and sport the Brembo's during summer. :lmfao:

That or you'll have to settle with buying 6 rims so that 2 of them will be sacrificed for winter driving.

spacers are dangerous if you don't do it right. it is highly recommended that you get new/longer wheel lugs if you're planning to run spacers. if you don't, then oftentimes, the lug nuts will barely grip on to a few threads and who knows... your wheel might fall off.

from personal experience, I know the following rims clear: Volk TE 37 (+40mm or lower), Black Racing Pro N1 (+45mm or lower)

but this is on a 4th gen (which would apply to 5th gen as well). honda is usually pretty consistent with the wheel offsets but don't quote me on those offsets for 6th gen and up.

** the parenthesis are rim offsets, btw.

what do you mean by getting 6 rims and sacrificing 2 of them during winter?

and wow....you're talking about a perfect work out to take off 2 4-piston calipers by hands.....

thanks

what did you have in mind to use for your front tires during the winter? you can't run anything smaller than 17's and again, you run into the problem of spoke clearance.

well actually i was thinking getting 2 sets of rims, 17" for winter, 18" for summer, or it could be 2 sets 17"s for winter and summer. i wonder if racing hart c5 will match the caliper clearance though...really like that one. i have a set of 04' TL wheels, but it's kinda wide for my accord to be honest with you....but it does make little space for the caliper though....

you need more than just a "little" space to clear the calipers. trust me when I say they are a pain in the @$$.

c5's won't clear without spacers.

Not all 17's an8 18's will clear. I'd say do some research on speciffic wheels and clearences. Generalities won't help out that much. And you really want to be right the first time.

i did a little research for the kit and just got a few more questions for you if it's not too much trouble.
this is what i've got from brembo 2004 catalog
99 accord v6
99 TL and up
01' CL and up
they all use the same 328mm kit. part#:1A1.6015A

similarly, 04' TSX's 328mm kit (part#: 1A1.6017A), but from the catalog, its "A" clearance needed is larger than accord's "A" clearance needed (36mm, accord 328mm kit is 32mm).

so i'm wondering if brembo 328mm kit for those acura vehicles could be direct bolt on without any wheel modification nor getting new wheels (especially for TSX, factory spec: 17x7 offset 55mm). if it does fit, then i assume that TSX's wheels will fit with 328mm kit on my car without any wheel modification.

i borrowed my friend's tsx wheels to try and see if it will work, here are the pictures for your reference. i did a rough measure of TSX wheel's "A" clearance. it looked like it's more than 32mm, but i don't think it's accurate though.

i'd be very grateful if anyone could help me out. thanks a million!
