not sure what kind of point you are trying to make? cuz i already have it in my car, and it works for me, so stop trippin.

This thing claims to swirl gas & air together to provide better atomization of the mix so it will burn better. Common sense says that effect will never make it to the spark plug. Explain how the air is still swirling after it makes it past the throttle body, intake manifold, intake valves, and finally into the combustion chamber where it mixes with gas?
Tornados dont spin faster because the air is directed in a circular motion. Circular moving air comes first, the tornado comes 2nd. Tornados dont make wind move fast, Fast moving winds make tornados. Tornados spin faster when you get more faster moving wind feeding it. This device doesnt do anything to increase the amount of air coming in, or the speed it enters at, so its useless.
If it was this easy, manufacturers would have installed products like this a long time ago if they really worked. It would have no downsides. No noise like free flowing exhausts, or intakes, and its not expensive like tubular headers, or mandrel bent pipes are. Its just a cheap piece of aluminum. They need everything they could get to increase CAFE standards for MPG, especially with all the SUV's being sold.
According to those informercials, and customer testimony Slick50, Duralube, Splitfire plugs, and all those other snake oil products work as well. Hell people swear by phone psychics too. I'm sure there are many people who really think these things work, but those results can never be reproduced in real tests.
Bottom line, search online, and go with hard facts, real data, and opinion from experts, or go with opinion from 18 yr olds with nothing more than hey it works for me, and i get more miles per tank now.
What is that anyway? Thats not even close to being accurate. To measure MPG, fill up the tank till it shuts off without topping it off, reset the trip odometer, drive the car till close to empty, and then refill again at the same pump. Then divide the miles driven by gallons consumed. Thats how you check MPG.

Never seen how dirty a throttle body gets? With a Short Ram, it's much worse.

Ok, well all those tests said there was a negligable gain, if any. .4% was the biggest I heard. Also, no change in horsepower.
There you have it, it has been proved to increase gas milage without decreasing available power
I mainly read those articles to make sure I wasn't -losing- power or gas. And since I'm obviously not, I won't take it off.
BTW: I traded some wacky tobaccy to an owner of a local shop for it, plus have him install it. Total loss to me = $15.00. I'm not too dissatisfied. Plus it makes a cool fake turbo sound with my intake

With the same logic, putting one of these in your exhaust would suck it out quicker too. Maybe I should market something like that. Id make a small fortune off of people who believe what they see on late night infomercials.

Then you're blind.
I fail to see how, if this theory works, why they wouldn't use a puller fan (such as a computer fan) in the same way? Wouldnt it be just as effective, if not more, then the regular stationary inverted impellar that this uses?
And also, another question of mine, is that since Honda's are one of the best most thought out engineered cars in the world, why wouldnt the genius at Honda think of a similiar thing, since Honda's are also some of the most gas conscious cars, and this increases MPG.. yet some infomercial marketing genius thinks of it..
I have yet to see any proof, or dynos that this work, and would be interested in seeing some.

never said you were, I just don't get the logic in what your trying to argue over.
If it works for you, then more power to you, but I prefer to see evidence before I swear to a product.
let see. How should I put this.
The tornado works. It makes air "twisted". But in cars' applications, it DOES NOT.
Here's why:
1. It placed at the beginning of the intake system.
2. The Intake Pipe's diameter is small, 3" is the max you'll see.
3. From the tornado's place to the Intake manifld is NOT a straight line, and a LONG line.
4. The intake draws air in at high CFM (cubic feet per minutes).
5. Air does circulate as STATE by physics after pass through the tornado.
6. However due to high CFM, air current path will bounce off the insidewall (due to small radius) of the intake tube so hard and fast that it won't remain the cyclone shape anymore. Because just like every other form (gas, solid, liquid, etc), the angle of refraction of each path - in this case is the air path - will be different, and thus in massive amount of collision, it'll affect the flow.
7. Also, when entering the manifold, it must go to a bent area, which will so dramatically reduce the cylcone air that the tornado's create.
8. Therefore, it WON'T WORK.
Have you hever see that they place the tonado in a long- 3" -bent tube and see that air actually circulate @ the end of that tube. NO. Because in both REAL LIFE and PHYSIC's CALCULATION, it WILL NOT work.
The sample water test that they show on TV is more affective because water's is heavier, the suction amount is much much lessen, and also because of water's buoyancy that they tends to stick together and forms a larger body and thus won't collide with each other like air does for an intake system. Also, their tube is MUCH MUCH larger and they placed the tornado in the middle of the tube.
oh yea, and it works for you because you FEEL it's different.
gas milage can be affected by many ways: Tire's pressure, weight, how hard you drive & cornering, road condition, what type of gas, etc. that the tornado won't even come close.
