hi, i recently bought a 86 accord, it has an idling problem, idles between 1100 and 2000 most of the time... since i live in washington i have to pass emissions before i can transfer title. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix? Also.. it lunges forward when i put it in drive. any info would be much appreciated, thank you

 

In terms of the idling, you can just the idle switch located around you fuel injection. (Not sure exactly where since I don't have that gen. of a car). When you notice the idling, are you paying attention to it when you first start the car or after it has been running for a little while, because generally the idle will go down after a few minutes of the car running.

 

it does it all the time, i took it to emissions they cant even test it until it maintains under 1100 without going over. hehe since im a chick i dont know too much bout this kind of stuff, trying to learn after getting screwed by mechanics way too many times
