Default New Edition to Driveway

Today my sister took delivery of a brand new 04 TSX. This replaced a 99 Grand Cherokee that was starting to show it's age, but anyway it's nice to have a couple of Honda vehicles in the driveway again. I don't know much about it yet, but I was wondering what octane rating should be used? The Manual says 91, but goes on to say that a lower grade can be used with reduced performance. The gas stations around here have 87-89 and 93, so 89 isn't too far off, but we don't want the car to run terrible, so any suggestions would be great. Heres a few pics of the trio.

I would say us 89 for the first 1500 while it breaks in then go to 93.

wrong if the manual requires 91 and higher then use 93 89 will cause the ecu to retard the timing and they will be a major lose of power and also you my get some dentention (sp)

that's odd because some new cars I have seen said use lower grade gas but if the manual says use 91 us that or higher. Sorry for the wrong info.

its been my exprience with Acuras, that if the manual says to use a speciffic octane you'd better use it. The difference in performance is very noticeable.

As a side note...the TSX is a hot car isnt it? Sure is sexy.

Default age

I'm glad to see the GC gone. I never really liked it anyway. Before the Jeep, she had a 97 Accord EX, which was really nice. It's nice she came to her senses and bought another Honda automobile. On a side note, my old 89, 3g Accord coupe was in better condition than her Jeep, her paint would not show any type of gloss and it just looked dull and dingy all of the time, plus it was starting to fall apart. Here's a pic of my old, old, (two cars ago) baby taken a few months ago before the car was traded in, to demonstrate the lasting power of a Honda. I think it still looked great for it's age.
