Koni Red v. Yellow... need help!
I could use some help from those of y'all who have tried my combination...
I have a 95 Accord EX 4dr. I've already purchased H&R OE springs. I'm ready to go for Koni's but am not certain if I should go with Reds or Yellows. Here's what I want in my ride. I want to lower the car but not by more than 1" or so. I'm told the H&R OE's will drop .5" but more like .75" or so after they settle. I would like to have a fairly soft ride, nothing harsh as I use the car for daily driving, including getting kids to school and daycare. I don't need adjustability to go firm for any kind of spirited driving so I doubt if I'd really ever go play with the Yellow's knobs. I would consider the Yellow's lower perch setting for the additional .5" drop but have read that Red's have perch adjustments. I will be installing 17x7s and 215/45-17s at some time in the future. Koni's website says use Reds for stock springs, Yellow's if height is lowered. Do H&R OE qualify as stock? They are probably a little stiffer so the Yellow's softest setting, a little stiffer than stock, might combine to be too stiff.
Any help is appreciated

if you arent going to be adjusting them then there is really no purpose in getting the yellows. you said you may take advantage of the adjustable perch on the yellows, but if you don't use that feature, then there is no reason to spend the extra money for something you wont be using. as far as i know, the reds dont have an adjustable perch unless they have changed them. but the ride will be slightly stiffer, but not much due to the subtle drop and stiffer spring rate. hope that helps.
I'd go for the Reds. Like swoosher said, if you're not going to be adjusting them, why pay extra?
And I'd say the springs you're talking about would be fine on Reds. They're close enough to stock that you could probably even put them on straight OEM shocks.

Thanks for the feedback.
I was told that my 17x7s will look bad if I don't lower my car more that the .5" that the H&R OEs will do. I was going to install the springs on the stock struts but realized that if the height was bad, I'd be paying another install charge to replace the struts. I hate the wheel gap that I have now with the OEM rims. I think I'll go with the yellows on lower perch setting and adjust to softest setting. I should get at least 1" drop after everything settles.

Yep, that's the great thing about the yellows, you can fine tune the drop a bit to your liking. Look into the Neuspeed version of the yellows (SP3's), they have 5 perch grooves instead of 3. I have them and they are great.
I've considered the Neuspeed versions but the additional drop on the lowest perch is only an extra 5mm, correct? Is there another benefit to using those over the 3-position Koni's? I've been able to locate a reputable reseller of Koni who's listing rear Koni Yellow's for my 95 Accord for $95 each. The Neuspeed go for $141 each.
