I have painted mine, twice, but the paint comes off after a couple months. Ive got money now, so I want to do it right, just trying to save a few so I can afford projector headlights.

Thanks, Spy

i did mine like 3 years ago when i first got the car and it's still on...looks the same...actually the clear coat got kinda dirty...doesn't look as shinny as before...your probably using the wrong stuff, i used real transparent paint not those sticky red stuff you can get at the performance store.

Default Red tails

Cool. Sounds like I am doing it wrong. I used Testors red spray paint, only one coat. What brand/type of paint should I use?

Thanks, Spy

Your using the right paint. Maybe sand the lights a little so the paint will stick better? And do more than one coats like 3-4. And then 1-2 of clear

i painted mine a while back and they still look good, i went to craft store and bought a can of candy apple red transparent enamel paint and a clearcoat. take the lightas off, wash them, sand them with really fine grit sand paper, spray 2 or 3 layers of red (spray each one thinly so it doesn't run down the light and let each layer dry) then spray a layer of clearcoat and let it dry. by the way i took masking tape and masked the reverse light part cause i didnt want that bein red, and yes you do need to sprasy even the red part so its the same shade of red as the blinker when you're done

you're saving for projectors? :eh:

you might not like what you see, or rather, can't see.

I just bought that paint. It's Krylon Stained Glass Paint, it's made by Sherwin-Williams Co. My local Michaels store didnt' have it so I ordered from their online site.

http://www.michaels.com/art/online/home

I paid $9 a can but I bought red and orange and completely redid the tails on my accord and CRX.

I did amber corners and turn signals (front and rear) on the accord and it looks great. Same thing on the CRX.
