Default radiator install

hi. i have an 1994 automatic honda accord. i need to change the radiator becasue the top tank cracked. it is to my understanding that the radiator contains a seperate section to cool the transmission. does this mean that there is tranny fluid going through the radiator? i believe its in the lower 1/3 of the radiator. i suppose i will have to change the tranny fluid with the radiator if this is ture. can anyone confirm this for me?

so... apparently I don't have my trusty Hanes book w/ me now, but I think that the radiator and tranny cooler are separate, least they look that way in my civic, and you can change or service them independantly of each other.

i looked at the car, there does not seem to be a seperate cooler elsewhere. maybe the civics and accords are different..

Yeah, the antifreeze & radiator fluid can't mix, but usually the radiator & tranny cooler are built together. So you'll have to disconnect the tranny fluid hoses as well as the radiator hoses.

Maybe it's a good excuse to change your tranny fluid, but I guess you don't really have to. Just replace what you lost after putting the new radiator in.
