Default Missing Accord!

Okay, the car is still here.

Problem is with a '91 LX

It misses badly at 1800 RPM. Not before, not past, but 1800. If you pass 1800 under a load you don't notice it.

Replaced plugs, rotor/cap, no change. I can't tell if it's fuel or electical. Any ideas?

What a horribly misleading subject...

Try checking out the transmission or the flywheel. I think possibly yours attempts to shift around 1800.

It seems to stutter a little at the 1800...it's like the throttle hits a wall when accellerating slow. If you hold it at 1800 it's like you are running on 3 cylinders.

Default Update!

Someone suggested in the newgroup that it may be the EGR ports. I removed the vacuum hose from the intake and blocked it off and the condition goes away. I now need to clean the EGR ports. Does anyone know what is involved in doing this or if it's something that should just be replaced?

Excellent link! I can handle that. Just for grins I called two Honda dealer$, and one quoted me $350 to clean the EGR Ports and another $150. Go figure!
