Default 40+hp Gude Head package?

Anyone purchase and install a Gude head package?
If so, what was the end result, and any issues with the kit?

I've posted this question in the other board but have found little about the kits there. So trying to find anyone with a Gude kit. Looking to do a mild NA build up, just not much for an F-series on the market, not looking to swap.

how much is their package??

I think i'd rather deal with Proflow.. i have heard many iffy things about gude. they seem a lil hocus pocus to me.. 40hp ??? seems unlikely when a set of good heads on my 5.0 will give me about 45-50.

Default gude head unit

i'm a newbie so don't laugh too hard if my questions seem stupid... if you buy the head unit (complete package) does that mean you can't go forced induction later? i not sure how all that works but pretty interested, thanks.

if the head is properly ported/polished and bigger valves etc are installed.. the head will be excellent for FI. However the cam might be a different story.. I dont know gudes spec's for cams.

ok do Gude and Proflow have websites?

Ive been looking into stuff like this. I want an h22 but thats not enough so I either want to go FI or NA. All I've found for head work is www.importbuilders.com around $1900 I think, doesnt say which motor. and for FI I guess all I'll I've really found is www.jdmclub.com h22 + custom turbo for accords w/ swap = 5500...can remember but i think thats installed?

later

xtcracer96,
Thanks :fawk:

I've kinda posted this everywhere buy now. I guess I'll have to learn to accept the fact that building an F-series up is no mans land

Thinking of getting a cheap F-series from the junkyard (since there are many--no one wants one.) Tear into the bad boy and maybe just go and spend the bucks. knife edge a crank nitride the rods. UP the compression on the pistons maybe 9.5 -10:1 hopefully the ECU can handle it and find a real race shop if any exist near Ohio and have the head ported myself. Maybe I'll call Webcams or Crower and see if they can help make any custom blanks for me using the Gude specs as a Guide. And for anyone thinking this is work and just go swap. F**K that, if I wanted to hack wires and pay astrimonimcal prices for H-series I guess I wouldn't have posted this period

Anyone wanting to look Gude 'www.gude.com' but they suck for answering questions and they don't respond to e-mails.

I dont think an F22 buildup is no mans land...

I'm not sure its cost effective though.

BTW: Endyn actually makes rods and pistons for this engine.. both high and low compression

I have to warn you by the time you do head work, get cam ground, buy internals.. you're lookin at MORE than it would have been to swap in a H22. and realisticly you'd be lookin at more torque with the H22. a swap is really easy actually, with some help and knowledge you can have your H22 installed in a day. and the wiring is cake.

i cant remember proflow's webpage i'll look it up tonight and post it back (its in my favorites at home)

I'm not trying to derail your project or be one of those JUST SWAP it guys. but i do understand futility and i'd hate to see somone go broke for mediocre results.
