Default Long Wheel studs

I just purchased wheel studs for my car that are a lil too long. My rims have an offset that is too wid for the OEM studs and as a result, i have stripped some of them. I didn't want to buy the pep boy brand so i went and got the APR studs for honda. They are about .5" too long. Does anyone know a way to fix it. I was told that cutting the studs is an option but you risk cross threading them. Does anyone here have experience with this?

I say cut them down, then grind the tips alittle (round them out) that way you have less chance to cross thread them.
