Default Easy question - preventing rust

Ok, so I was smoking my middle tail today inside my apartmennt but didnt manage to finish. So I thought, "hey, it's not going to rain tonight so I'll just finish up tomorrow." Guess what, all week it didn't rain, EXCEPT today. So neways, by the time I get outside, there's all this rain getting inside my trunk and all over the bulb wiring tabs and wutnot. So I quickly dried what i could with paper towels and thenn covered it with plastic.

So my question is this, will my trunk begin to rust? How can I prevent it from rusting?

thanks

if you dried it really good, you're fine. rust begins when bare metal is constantly exposed to the elements. wax is the best way to go. it smooths the surface of the material and creates a beading action when water comes in contact with it.

rust only forms on steel metal without paint on it. unless you removed the paint from your trunk, it wont rust

You could use touchup paint or clearcoat so there will be a permanent/semipermanent coating over the exposed metal.

spray, wipe the surfaces down with alcohol, that will disperse any water
