what i did was i bought the one. I bought it off ebay for about 36. not a bad price. then i cut the top part off. Then i test if it was sturdy, it wasn't. i hanged and it broke. so i went to home depot and got some epoxy, after i did the one side that was cracked, it was hellla strong. couldn't flex at all. so i did it to the other side. then i went to fill in the gap with bondo. i took on day to do all of it. used a dremel and sand paper(200, 2000 grit). now it looks like it was factory. i put the fine mesh grill in the back(painted black). i painted it once, didn't like it, paint it again, once again, didn't like it. Then i was like i'll take my time, sand it down till it was smooth. then i paint it, sand it, paint it. then put a clear coat. i think it is perfect now. my grill is actually functional too. the small mesh caught the fly's i catch when i cruise. hehe. . mine was the same, but i didn't like the top bar, so i went and cut it off. looks sweet, i'll post pics up on friday. Keep up the good work guys. Give me ideas on DIY. i already have alternating hazards(im like a cop without a badge).

 

hey 94AccordSedanEX what's the difference between the two. I dont' see much. i didn't feel like cuttting my oems so i cut the aftermarket ones. didn't have to worry about it, less stress ful to work with. I suggest getting the autodynamic and cut the top bar. Don't just buy it and keep the bar up there. it's not that good looking. any questions? email me or pm me. Wow, this is an old post. The difference is in the first two pics, theres no black mesh with the Accord emblem in the middle. Now there is the Accord Emblen on black mesh behind the grill. Looks good IMPO.

 

yea i put a mesh behind mine too. i didn't get a emblem yet. I'm trying to find a mugen one. we'll see...i used the fine mesh, not the big ones. i like it more. even caught my bugs. hehe.

 

I have an autodynamic one I'm willing to sell...It's never been used, I just put it on for like 10 mins and took it off cuz I decided I'd try to make my own using cryogen's instructions...though I still haven't gotten around to it.

Anyway, if anyone wants a new autodynamic type R grill (like the one Accord97LX has...It's up for grabs.

 

Here's my type-r, but for some reason the top bar slopes down a little more in the middle. maybe i need to adjust the mesh or something.



but it doesn't matter since i'm getting a homemade one with an accord emblem already on it
