Default short shift adaptors

I have a question. I am installing dc sports short shift adaptor tomorrow. I was reading around the forums and found some guys saying that modifying your shifter damages your synchros or tranny. Did any of you guys actually had this problem or it is just another myth? Thanks for any help.

it is a myth or the guy doesn't know what he is talking about. The kit for accords, at least for 6thgenss, just changes the mounting point of the transmission linkage that attaches to ur shifter. Once isntalled ur still moving the tranny as far as before it just the shifter that has a lesser throw. U will see it more clearely once u install the adapter.

i believe since the accord uses linkage and not a cable like a civic/teg this is not a problem. them myth started with those cars.

also, sometimes people don't know how to time the shift properly so the ability to shift faster messes up the synchros cause they are not fast enough with the clutch yet.

indeed. if you really wanted to, you could just get rid of the whole assembly and have a friend shift for you by pulling/pushing on one cable and pushing/pulling on the other. there are two independent rods, so you could even get funky with it and weld a long stick onto both rods and have your friend shift from the backseat.

that combines with cutting the shifter would be sick.
