Default Honda Techs Please Read!!

Has anyone had to remove a door lock assembly while the door is shut. I believe the only way to remove it is to drill out the bolts from inside the door. Am I right, or is there another way, and will drilling it out work? The hook which hold the door shut will not release, I've heard of early generation accords having this problem but not 6th gens. Honda wants a lot of money to do this job and I'm trying to not go broke. Please see my thread which explains the whole problem. This is definitely a question for someone who works on these cars for a living. Thanks guys.

Those are instructions to remove the door panel, I'm inside the door trying to take off the lock assembly. Thanks though.

hmmmmm.... i've done it with the door open and it's pretty easy. don't drill anything if you don't have to. i'm not sure about your year accord, but you just might be able to do it. probably need to get the seat out of the way though
