comptech icebox...
i heard.. its cold air intake... but.. its safe as short ram cuz its riht under the hood...
but separated with a box thing.......... and it gives about same performance as other cold air intake..
but.. how??? wut the difference between stock and icebox???
doesnt stock work just like that icebox thing??
if its b/c of short ram pipe thing going into box that causes difference..
then..putting aem short ram inside of stock box would work same as icebox?
o and.. doesnt stock take cold air too? except narrower pipe? or not..
i no this sounds idiotic.. but.. i dotn no... so.. help me out here...

Its not available for the I-4's.
The stock airbox is all convoluted, with very small diameter piping, and after all the twists, turns, and resonators, the air being sucked in is actually warm engine bay air. Their is also the factor of a longer intake stack/runner providing more torque, and more useable power than a really short one; up to a point of course. (even if you had the same temp air being sucked in, a filter right at the throttle body would not be as good as one on a longer, tuned stack like the AEM & Comptech)
The Comptech uses a high flow filter, and a tuned higher diameter intake stack/runner both before and after the filter. Their design is the best CAI IMO just because the gains are great, and it has none of the downsides to other CAI's. The filter stays cleaner for much longer, the filter itself wont get dirty or wet in the rain, its quieter, and when you do need to do filter maintenance, its in the engine bay instead of in the wheel well.
