Default Power Antenna Jamming

This morning, I arrived at school then I turn off my car, and there is a sound making noise "RRRRRRRRR" because the antenna doesn't go down. Something wrong with the power antenna. So, I drive 1995 Honda Accord EX.

What I do with the power antenna?

I wonder '97 and '02 Accord have no antenna on outside. Only had is inside the rear window. It called "Antennaless"

What about to put inside the rear window? How much is cost?

Do you understand?

As far as I know to get an antenna inside of the glass would require getting a new glass which would be expensive. They sell universal power antennas in regular auto stores for under 50 bucks, and it is very easy to install...under 15 minutes.

you can purchase a replacement mast for your antenna... auto parts stores can order them, as well as stereo places. Dealer is too expensive, like HondaPower mentioned.

What happens is the flexible plastic end of the antenna that mates with the gear on the motor gets stripped out over time... so it will work intermitently as the remaining teeth engage with the gear.

Replacement is pretty simple... power the radio on, and have someone pull the antenna up all the way... with a rag and a pair of plires, remove the chrome nut at the base of the antenna... the antenna will then pull up and out of the motor assembly. Instalation of the new one is the reverse...

As far as a rear window antenna (or front) you can buy a window antenna kit (like what older vehicles came with) from places like JC Whitney (I think) and stick it on your window... or, parts stores carry amplified window antennas, which differ from the wire type antennas, they have a centrally mounted amp with "wings" that are the antenna. It is about 1/2" x 12" and sticks on the inside of the window with foam tape.

:werd: The antenna mast can be done in less than 5 minutes.

The stick-on window antennas from JC Whitney are uber-crap. We toyed with one for my buddy's 318is when had his indash LCD screen, dvd player, and crap installed. The stick-on antenna was the biggest piece of crap and looked very cheap. He opted to drill a hole in the back fender and put in a 3 series convertible antenna (the short one). It looked great, and I'm considering putting one on my car if I can find one at a salvage yard or for sale somewhere, as my antenna mast too is not working right all the time. I did one on my 90 Accord and just haven't gotten around to doing it on my 93 yet.

Default Too late! The antenna broke -_-

I went to Brown Bear car wash station today at KPAE (Everett). The antenna was fell off because I tried to lower, but doesn't work. So, I removed the antenna to avoid rip off at fast speed. So, I cannot listen to the radio. The CD player work fine.

Anyway, do you understand?
