Default Difference between Koni Reds & Koni Yellows?

Does anybody know what the difference is between Koni Red and Koni Yellow shocks is? From what I can tell, Koni Yellows are externally height adjustable and Koni Reds are not. Is that all?

Thanks!

from what i understand, Koni reds are meant to be high quality stock replacements and not meant/designed to be used with lowering springs.

if you're contemplating on the two, i say cough up the money for the yellows. i've had them since 1994, no regrets whatsoever.

Yep, the reds aren't rebound adjustable like the Yellow's (sports) are.

I have Koni Reds on my 99 Acura CL. They're adjustable, but you have to pull the damned things out to do it. They aren't externally adjustable like Koni Sports. They're good struts.

www.shox.com was my vendor of choice give them a call. I tried to get reds from them but I had to take the yellow--boo-hoo

It seems to me that the Yellows are better than the Reds. The downside is that the Yellows cost more.

How have the Yellows been for you?

Yep, I was wrong when I said the reds weren't adjustable, like Sacramento CL said, they are, just not as easily as the Yellow's.

From Koni:
REDS
"The red KONI line is meant for drivers who want to improve their car in general; better comfort and road-holding combined with a higher level of safety.

KONI Special shock absorbers are available for most performance cars. KONI select the most appropriate technology for each car from the wide range of shock absorber types. Each shock absorber is then customized for the car model. Hence, a KONI Special is always the best choice, for replacement as well as improvement."

YELLOW (sports)
"The KONI Sport product line is one of our specialties. KONI serves sporting drivers with a carefully designed range of sport shock absorbers and suspension kits with lowering springs. This line focuses on exceptional road-holding and handling properties, combined with an acceptable level of comfort.

Its characteristics include responsive steering, improved body control and limited body movements when braking and accelerating, all resulting in a direct feel and excellent wheel-road contact.

Many of the KONI Sport dampers are externally adjustable by means of a knob, so they need not be disassembled from the car. The fine-tuning of the damping forces to personal driving style and to different driving conditions is therefore not more than a matter of seconds. The best of fine-tuning technology straight from the world of Formula 1 racing."
