No, I've never tried 'em with regular bulbs. I just bought a set of H1 HIDs and put 'em in. I never did a projector retrofit on the TYCs

Default 3rd gen integra

The third generation Integra had projector headlights with halogen bulbs. I put a set of PIAA superwhite bulbs into my 95 integra and was really pleased with the results. The spread of light was excellent and I liked the color and brightness of the setup. I made the mistake of selling that car to buy a 94 accord ex auto two years ago. I'm only now getting back into a stick (04 accord ex coupe).

In short, projectors can work very well with either halogen or xenon HID bulbs behind them, if the lamp is well designed.
