Default 98 Accord EX Upgrade Questions

Heya. I've got a 98 Accord EX Coupe with an F23/AT and the following modifications:

- Helix PowerTower
- AEM Cold Air Intake
- DC Sports Creamic Headers

It seems I'm running out of things to replace, except of course the exhaust system. My question is, what do you guys think I'm pushing horsepower wise, and what are some other good upgrades (hp/torque-wise) that I can do next? I'm also interested in ECU modifications (but not completely interested in a $2500 standalone system), another question is (and the answer is probably "it's crap") what do you guys think of those "+20 HP" ECU plugin chips you can get off eBay for less than $20? Speaking of chips, does anyone know a true "Jet" style chip available for my car?

nitrous or forced induction for power upgrades are probably the only hp gains you'll be happy with...

no ecu chip is worth it.. a tuned vafc and stand alone system will probably be the only ecu upgrades you'll notice anything with.

By a VAFC you're talking about a VTEC controller, correct?

You mean a tuned afc or a standalone right? Getting a afc with a standalone is a waste of money that could have gone to some more tuning, if someone has the standalone.

Anyway, you would need more parts to need any sort of management that will benifit you. Just get yourself a nitrous kit with some 75 pills and an auto tranny cooler.

I've been looking at them and they don't appear too expensive. I understand that I'm never going to have a super fast car from that Accord without major modifications (mainly engine swap.) In all reality, what's the VTEC controller going to do for me, instinctively I'd probably end up setting it at like 3K RPM and hurting something during a run.

I'll be completely honest here, I'm pretty new to this whole car hobby and I don't know a whole lot about how cars work. I just happened to have a little bit of money over Christmas and plenty of willing friends to help me install the gear I listed above. Obviously, I'm a teenager (about to be twenty) and I don't think I can handle N2O, at least not yet and not in my first real vehicle. A super/turbo is out of the question because of sheer cost, same with the standalone engine system. I'm considering an exhaust system, I haven't yet decided but I think I'm leaning towards the GReddy Evo. I don't want a 'ricey' sound at low RPM/normal driving, but I want it made evident when I slam it to the floor that I bought a quality system.

Any other ideas? Thanks for previous replies and in advance.

well since you admittingly dont know much about cars, i'd steer clear of a vafc. just stick with the basic bolt ons. i/h/e/c
