Default header ques

Ok I am about to purchase headers for my car. I have a 96 accord ex. Now I have been looking at Kamakazi headers that are 4-1 headers.
Then you have have DC Sports 4-2-1 headers that are Two Piece.
What is really the differnece and which one would be better. Right now I only have AEM CAI, nology wires w/iridium sparks, and working on getting APEXi World Sport Exhaust System. Since from what i hear it is not loud at all. Can someone give me some advice thanks much apprecuated.

ONE HEADER! :squint:

with that said... :squint: ...a two piece will be easier to install. 4-1 is more for top end power with a 4-2-1 being more for bottom end and mid range.

get the 4-2-1 header... it'll help out with the low end power... something our car lacks.

I've heard from many places that an aftermarket header on EX accords doesn't do much but shave a few pounds off at best. I forget why.. something like EX accords are already 4-2-1?

Anyways, that was my justification for buying my suspension setup yesterday opposed to aftermarket header.

That is very true. The ex come with a 4-2-1 header. We would only gain by losing a few pounds but I don't know by how much. That is why I haven't purchased one although it would be nice to say I have a DC sport 4-2-1 header.

save ur money and buy suspension like someone else said above. Its a lot of dough for performance only a dyno could show. It won't give u any noticable satisfaction like a good suspension will.

Yeah...echoing what everyone said, the EX models already have a 4-2-1 header. You're not going to get much better...it's mostly for bling factor and just to say you have one. Just go straight for the Apex WS exhaust and maybe a suspension upgrade.

I bought my DC Sports header used recently off eBay for $177, the ceramic model not stainless or chrome or whatever. It preforms like a champ and I can say I can tell a difference, esp at low end. This is the last of the bolt ons I've preformed to my 98 EX (helix, aem cai, dc header) and I can say without a doubt it's been the one that's proven more powerful. However, it could just be the in-conjunction-with factor of the other parts. I haven't been on a dyno so I don't know. I'd say that $400 (MSRP, I found it for about $350 online brand new) would be a little much to pay, but if you can get it used -- why not?

i totally agree w/ kenton....eventhough the ex has the 4-2-1 header, getting the DC sport 4-2-1 would def. help with gains, esp when u have the other bolt ons.... also, if u can get it used, y not??
