Default Just Purchased '94 LX

I've posted here several times & just wanted to say hi again
and inform you guys that I just purchased in NJ a '94 LX Dark Red 4 Door for my 17 year old daughter. She is very excited and really likes it. It has108K miles & is in VG condition, we purchased it locally from the original owner. The interior is especially clean & the exterior has no obvious problems and is rust free.

Good news is Timing belt/water pump has been done, and it has fairly new brake pads, rotors & calipers, CV joints, tires & exhaust.
Has receipts showing oil has been changed about every 4K miles since new.

The only think we might want to upgrade is to alloy wheels. Where can we pick up fairly cheap 14" Honda alloys for this car?
I would like to upgrade to 15" but that we mean purchasing new tires and these only have 9K miles on them so I don't want to replace these tires.

I'll check back in after we pick up car on Saturday if there's some follow-up questions you guys might be able to help us with...

thanks... Tom

GJ on the timing belt deal.

There are no 14" Honda Alloys at all, only steelies. 15" is worth the upgrade. I'm sure you can find a decent set of EX (like mine in sig), or SE wheels around somewhere. Otherwise get some decent aftermarket 17 or 18" wheels after you've lowered the car (if you plan to)

i say let her cruise around on steelies and if she wants new wheels let her get em ... she already has a pretty nice car compared to most high schoolers.

Just sayin seein as it sounds like it has good tires on it right now.

Yeah there is. 4th gen prelude base model optional wheels.

I agree with Melt. If she wants wheels she should save up and buy a set for herself. It will give her more appriciation towards the car. The first wheels I would suggest are 94/95 accord ex wheels. Theyre 15" alloys, OEM quality, and fairly priced. If you or her opt for aftermarket wheels make sure theyre from a reputable brand and they fit correctly. I work at a tire shop and see a lot of kids buying wheels that dont quite fit over the and they dont spend the extra money on hub rings.

just playing:chuckles:

I know you said you don't wanna buy new tires and stuff, but I recommend getting a set of some decent 15" alloys. I have 94-95 EX alloys on mine, I'll post a picture below. Good luck!

Here's my car w/the 15" alloys I was telling you about.

Please excuse the hideous clear corner lenses, I have since changed them out to some jdm corners

stock tires suck. i don't really like my micheline stockies. can't wait to get those yoko es100. but for your daughter, you can get a set of rotas and some falken ziex 512. can't ever go wrong with good tires with good traction... for saftey of course. :rick:
