thanks guys for the replies & thoughts (@ least most of them)

first things first... I will NOT share a picture of her cause you guys would flip out. She is extremely good-looking, and we as parents have been approached many times about her getting into modeling.. plus she has a semi-steady boyfriend who's a real nice kid.... enough said on that front..

2) We will not lower this car... it's staying stock
3) If we do trade-up to 15" wheels one day will that screw anything up like.. speedometer, mileage indicator, etc? I do
prefer the larger wheels, but the tires (cheap Kellys) have less than 10K miles on them.
4) we're really happy that the T. Belt/Pump was done already plus the brakes, exhaust & CV joints...
5) we did prefer an EX and almost exclusively were looking for one... I like the 15" alloys + the VTEC engine on the EX's, but this LX was just too good to pass up and was also priced right. In addition, we purchased it from the original-adult female owner who really took care of it and has ALL records.

cheers everyone.... Tom

Just get some OEM used 15" alloys in good shape off ebay, etc. The speedo and odometer won't be affected as long as you buy the right size tires (to keep the overall diameter the same or nearly the same as stock). Example...my stock 15's are nearly the same rolling diameter as my 18" wheels. All depends on the tire.

If you are worried about losing out on the relatively new tires that came with the car, just sell them on ebay as well to recoup a little money to help out with the new wheels and tires. Plus then you can buy the tires you want, and not have to just accept what came with the car.

Congrats on the new car, I bet she likes it.

The simplest solution is to go to a junkyard and get some EX rims. They sell for around $35 or so. You can get a set of 4 and most places will cut you a better deal.

Thats because you want them with tires. Rims alone are cheap, but you also gotta have sources and insiders.

Nice job with buying her an Accord, seeing how you have a Bimmer and a Vette. It's nicer than other cars *cough* civic *cough* but not TOO nice yet.

get bigger rims and tires and save the stockers for NJ's winter weather. That is what I do.

thanks for the additional thoughts about a junkyard.. but I bet they know those OEM wheels are sought after. I can also check ebay from time to time. There is no rush however, these tires as stated have less than 10K miles, but if we want to change them out one day the I'll check around for alloys.. My 2 cars and my wife's ('99 EX Coupe-V6) & other daughter's (Celica GT) all have alloys ranging from 15" to 17". This is now my only steel wheeled, ugly hubcap car!

R there available 14" Honda Alloys that R decent looking w/out upgrading to 15" so I could keep the fairly new tires?

enjoy the weekend everyone....!
