Default manual tranny swap Q.

This may or may not be a dumb question, but here is is anyway:

I have a 6gen lx accord w/ 4 spd. auto. transmission, and I am looking to swap in a manual tranny; I am curious if i can directly swap in a tranny from a 5th generation, or if it would be easier if i could just find all the parts from a same-year accord. I am also well aware that a H22 setup is best, i am just looking for some options that won't run above $2,500, as I am not sure how much longer i can restrain myself from gettin a Z. thanks very much, and if anyone has done this, feel free to p.m. me.

Honda accord swap to manual or 350Z(who gives a **** what model). Man, these are 2 choice which should be easily made.

Hands down 350Z if you can afford it.

On a serios note to not be an ass, if your going to swap to manual, it would be better if you could do the motor also. You already know the h22 is a better motor so if your going manual, get the h22 wwhile you are at it. It would be a lot easier that way. Happy New Year!

but seriously, aside from the innevitable Z and the somewhat costly H22, does anyone know whether or not a manual tranny from a 5th gen will easily bolt up to a 6th gen chassis?
if anyone has done this, pm or email me back.....thanks much

The F22 tranny will bolt up. Everything else like ecu, shifter assembly, pedal brackets,etc... you'll need from a 6th gen.

You may also want to try to get a H22 or H23 tranny. With shorter gears you'll get up to speed quicker then you would with the F22 tranny. The F22 trans has a longer geared tranny which is good for gas mileage.

I know the H22/H23 trannys should bolt right up if the F22 tranny will.

Default my auto-error

very interesting, i want the same thing, just for a 5thgen accord, just waiting on my tranny to go but i have too many miles left in the motor and by the time my tranny dies i will have too many miles on the motor so i will probably end up with a swap. i think is good to change trans to manual if u have low miles.
