Default Making a triptronic, possible??

My dad ownes a i4 03 auto coupe and I wanted to know if its possible to make a triptronic transmission for him. I hear somewhere that all u need is to manually tell the auto when to shift by hooking up some wires. If anyone knows if this is possible let me know. I think it would be reallly cool to be able to "shift" that car. This is dads fisrst auto car and he misses being able to downshift when slowing down. The use of D3 and such kinda gets annoying.

It would also just be easier swapping to manual as that car comes in manual.
