Just installed some 9005 silverstars *pics*
Bought a pair of 9005 Silverstars (modified them to fit 9006 sockets) from autozone today for $20/each and figured I'd share the pictures I took of the light output:
The last 3 had the flash on cuz my camera takes real shitty pictures at night with the flash off. But you can tell how bright and white the lights are now. And they match the hyperwhites I have in all my clears pretty nicely ::
Not sure if they are worth $40 but I have trouble seeing at night so every little extra helps. Now I need to find some good fog lights to put in my grill and I should be able to see a lot better while driving at night ::lol::

can u explain modifing. Why not use a direct replacement for stock light? Does the output differ? I was thinking about getting those but I don't know what type i should get for a 6th gen.
Looks really nice.

that's an explanation of the 9005->9006 conversion... it just involves chopping the 9005 lights up to fit in the 9006 housing... I used a knife and razor blade... Took me about 20 minutes and I was done
The cap doesn't matter for stock headlight housings though b/c of the shield that goes over for the actual bulb...

Why using a 9005 bulb: 9005 bulbs are 65W and are not capped at the end, 9006 bulbs are 55W and have a cap at the end

Looks awesome:thumbup:
Had those on my 6th gen a couple months ago, great light output and looked great too, but it blew out only a month and few weeks after I put em on . Hope urs will last much longer than mines . And when/if they do blow, go on ebaymotors.com and buy ur new silverstars from there, I've seen prices from $25-$30 shipped for TWO silverstars. Thats where I bought mines from, autozone charges $20 for ONE:madfawk: .

Yeah I paid $20 each... :dunno: saw em on ebay cheaper but shipping was $10 and after paying $30 for the bulbs themselves it evened out. And I'm impatient anyways
