Default Crank Pulley: reverse thread?

Is this bolt reverse thread? I have the tool to keep the harmonic balancer in place, and I just broke a 3/8 rachet extension trying to loosen the bolt to get the crank pulley off. So, am I pulling the right way (lefty loosy) If so, I'll just go to 1/2 inch next. That thing is TIGHT!! Thanks for any input.

dude, that shizzit is on there.

I recently did my timing belt and nothing worked, I even tried a 450ft/lbs torque air gun. Finally I got a long 1/2 in breaker bar and held the balancer tool, my dad got a 4ft pipe and put it on the end of another breaker bar attached to the crank bolt. after a couple of tries, it finally came loose. Keep in mind all this was done w/ a motor on a stand.

If the motor is in the car, my recommendation is to go rent yourself a 650ft/lbs air gun, other people on this forum have had luck with that method.

Crank pulley bolt comes off the normal way, counter clockwise.

They're usually stuck on there pretty good. I would susggest taking it to a shop with an air gun. Alot less headache this way. I got it off in a similar way by usin a 1/2 inch breaker bar with a 6 foot pole for leverage. Thats the only way you'll get it off at home.

I'm going to find a long pipe. Maybe Home Depot has some scrap piping I can take off their hands for cheap. The car's in my driveway... no chance of getting it to a shop. I wouldn't take it to a shop anyway... that's just me. I'll get this thing off. Thanks guys.
