Default Is Exedy a good clutch?

I think its time to get a new clutch in the hoopty, my 94 Accord. I found an exedy clutch kit for $149 and an Exedy flywheel for $97. Is this a good price? Better yet, is this a good product.

From what I have heard the clutchs are pretty good for those who just need another clutch. But if you beat the hell out of ur clutch you better look for afermarket. Best recommended, ACT. but that is a damn good price. when I bought a stock clutch for my car the kit was 170 but the a$$ who put it in put on the wrong thowout bearing. CLutch gone in 4 months. moderate to aggressive driving.

This kit comes with the throwout bearing, clutch disc, adjustment tool, and something else, can't remember right now. I'm not too terribly hard on my clutch anymore, this is my first manual tranny car so I was pretty hard on it at first. I thought this was a good price so I figured i'd throw it out there and see what kind of response I got.

I just had the Exedy Street Racing Clutch (08-805) Installed on my 95 Accord...it's great. Grips early and tight throughout. Definitely way better than the worn stock one. I got mine from ClutchCity through Charlie, he hooked me up with the whole package for 250 shipped. It included everything: Clutch, Pressure Plate, Adj tool, etc (No Flywheel). Then I went to my mechanic and had him install it while resurfacing the flywheel for 280. So whole operation costed me $530.

94uhkord, I'm not sure which package you're getting for $149, but if it's the 08-805, wow...you definitely got a great connection. Daikan/Exedy makes really good clutches, from scratch, not rebuilds like most others...even ACT.

I have the Exedy organic disc and I love it, good pedal feel and grips very well but not quite as well as an ACT. IMO if you are building for max power then ACT stage 2 or higher is the way to go. If you are looking for a better than stock replacement that you aren't going to beat the hell out of then go with Exedy or CM.

The one you are looking at...08-014 is practically a replica of the one Honda OEM Stock Clutch. In fact, Exedy probably made it for Honda. Anyhow, if you're looking for something with more capacity, a bit more racy feel that grips harder...then I'd suggest the organic street one. It is definitely a good replacement.

I've never had a problem with the clutch "grabbing" so im not exactly sure how that's a benefit. The problem im having now is that my current clutch is worn, I have to release the pedal almost all the way before it will engage. Just want a new clutch, not a race ready, battle tested, bulletproof one, just a new one that will prevent me from having to release the pedal all the way.
