1994 Accord LX acting weird... noise, throttle...
I noticed my 94 LX 4 cylinder seems quite a bit *louder* from about 25mph up to 60. This is weird because I don't have any mods done at all. It's a stock Accord muffler and exhaust.
Also, when I was driving today it took a lot of effort to get the engine to increase in speed from 60 to 65. It was like the transmission didn't want to shift.
So the question is, what could be causing more engine noise that's directly proportionate to throttle (ie... very quiet at idle, but loud above about 20mph) and a slow throttle response? Thanks...

doesnt it get louder, then quieter (shifting)...what your describing is that its a constand loud noise past 25 to 60...it should make noise if you are pressing on the gas hard
and the only way the 60-65 thing makes sence is that you wernt pressing on the gas enough to make the car want to downshift...be a little more descriptive or somthing then maybe someone can figure it out

I understand that the rpms and noise naturally increase as you excellerate through each gear change, but what I'm saying is that the *whole* experience is louder. When I press the gas, it's a noticeable rumble, which is not normal for my car. Even as the rpms drop after the shift is completed, it's still louder than usual.
Check your exhaust for leaks(holes). I have seen plenty of rusted through resonators and mufflers, might be a good thing to check out. As for the power loss, not sure. If there is a hole in the exhaust close to the O2 sensor or something it could cause problems... Other than that I'm not sure...
