Default Shifter stuck, spilled pop.... Help

I spilled a pop all over the shifter area in my 96 Auto (cut off on the highway doing 90 ) now its hard to shift out of park after the car has been sitting a while. What releases the car out of park when you hit the brakes? is it a solenoid? I can override it with the shift lock release by inserting a key. is
here a way to rig the shift lock release so It will not lock the car in park?

any suggestions would be helpful

Take the damn thing apart and CLEAN IT h:

Pull the concel apart (little screws hold in in place) then work your way to the shifter doing the same.

It's not that hard. TEACH YOUR SELF.
