When She Begins to Feel Old...

If they billed for OEM and put in a cheaper aftermarket one, they'd be in big trouble if you notified your insurance company. Only you can specify using aftermarket parts, not them or the insurance company. StateFarm was fined big time for trying to substitute aftermarket parts for OEM ones a few years ago. They paid out millions.
Yup I have an OEM kit on my TL, but even stock, there are tiny gaps at the edges between the kit and bumper which is a common complaint, so take that for what its worth.
You are right though, the lip did conceal my stock tips. I actually didnt like that, so I bought newer tips for my car which stick out a little further and werent so puny.
Like I said before if they used aftermarket anything, it would have been the bumper, but if you take the lip off it should have some Honda markings on it.
So is your whole problem how the tips stick out, or are there other issues?? Maybe your kit is fine, and in your accident, the mufflers or hangars were pushed in, and the bodyshop overcorrected in fixing it.

Yes, the main problem is how the tips stick out; other than that, I dont think I see any other imperfections in the rear skirt----BUT, you bring up a good point: during the accident, the mufflers or hangars may have been affected and THIS is what I may be seeing when I look at the sides; it may be an EXHAUST issue, not a ground effects issue. And I do notice, on my Accord too, how the underbody skirts dont quite connect 100 percent in every single place when attached to the frame of the car; there are some places, like near the wheelwells, where the gaps are QUITE huge. So I see that on my Accord, too, as you do on your TL.
Funny thing with insurance: when I went for my estimate on my car at the Geico center (for the adjuster to look at) he wrote down "aftermarket bumper covers" when describing what he wanted the body shop to use....the body shop I chose told me they disregard that and order me GENUINE Honda parts for the car WHEREVER POSSIBLE; when I picked the car up, the owner of the shop showed me RECIPTS from HUNTINGTON HONDA (you are on the Island, so I know you know this dealer) and how he purchased genuine bumper and skirt parts. But how do I know for sure? Maybe the underbody lip is not genuine Honda? You say an aftermarket company wouldnt get involved in making a Honda factory lip....but what about the possibility of a remanufactured part?

This is why I advised you to compare measurements with another 6th gen coupe w/ lip from a dealer's lot. If the measurements add up, Mr. Hydes remark about muffler hanger position is most likely the cause.

Sorry for the double post.
