Default Mod Chip...

Does it really make a difference on a 4 Cyl?

I found some very inexpensive chips on Ebay: any comment on those? Any suggestion on what to get?

Thanks in advance guys!

if its what I think it is, its just a resistor and it advances the timing. not worth it. they claim 5-15hp gain, but its crap. don't waste your money

Go to this link. I'm pretty sure that what you're talking about is what this guy is talking about.

I can't believe that guy is so ignorant. If u could buy a "mod chip" from e-bay for $20 that would give u 20hp everybody and their mom would have one. Its not really freaud. Its just taking advantage of ignorance. If u buy something from e-bay for ur car thats not name brand than don't bitch about the outcomes. If u want to use e-bay succsessfuly than search for ur desired mod somewhere else, get all the info u can, and then once u know exactly whats good for u hit up ebay to get the lowest price. I barely ever take in consideration what the seller sais about their product. Its always hyped up. As long as it sais origional xxxx and brand new in box ur good to go.

exactly, when you see something that seems to good to be true you need to use your head and think about it, cause it's probably BS.

If you're talking about the person who wrote that stuff about the e-bay scam that I posted a link about...he never bought one of them, he's just putting stuff like that online so that people don't screw up and get ripped. He's being a nice person.

If you're talking about the guy who posted this thread...he's just a noob. Lay off. We've all been there before.

Thanks IamNemo.

Beaside, who says that low price always = scam?

I bought clear light tails for my 2001 Accord and paid only 20 bucks for them!! Brand new, in the box.

low price isn't always a scam...but most of those ebay sellers are idiots...esp look out for sellers that have misnamed a product/brand/part...thas the most retarded thing...or giving out wrong info...or ppl that say the application is for all blahblahblah when really it's only for a specific year(s) or gen

I was not talking about maximum, sorry if u took it the wrong way. I was just suprised that the guy wrote so much about these evil ppl. It doesn't take much to figure out thats bs. I also wasn't saying that cheap on e-bay is bad. I wanted to make a point that u can't gain 20hp for $20 , ever see power pages in import tuner , they spend around $1k to get ~10hp. What I want to suggest to everyone is to shop around at reputable stores and research ur product and then go to e-bay tobuy it. Don't use e-bay as ur source of knowledge couse u will get screwed. If u find a "mod chip" on e-bay try looking for something like that at reputable stores. 9 out of 10 u won't find it anywhere.
