body kit for the 7th gen accord coupe and racing pedals
Hi everyone,
Just found this forum the other day while researching my car. Just bought a blue 03 v6-ex coupe last month and I'm looking into the Honda body kit. I really like how subtle it is and makes it look good w/out lowering the car.
I was just wondering if anyone has gotten the Honda kit and had it installed and what their thoughts of it were? Also would you mind letting me know the price? I'm just wondering if different dealers charge different amounts.
Another thing I'm interested about is racing pads for the Accord. When I was deciding which car to buy, I test drove the WRX and I have to say that making the racing pedals standard, it added a real sporty feel to car. I was wondering if anyone else has added pedals to their car and how hard was it to install? Sorry... I'm a newbie to cars and usually only use them to drive around.. hehe but this is my new baby and since I'm paying for it now.... I want to spoil myself.
Thanks!!!
Anthony

Check out handa-accessories.com for the kit, $7something for the kit is better than around $1200 from your dealer. Most racing pedals require drilling for the 03 accord, but there are a few that dont. Before you order make sure if they require drilling or not.

Yeah I liked how the WRX drove, but it just didn't feel as comfortable as the Accord. Also knowing that it was going to be my car to get to and from work... I just loved how the leather wrapped around me. Plus the cars are almost the same price, but the Accord came fully decked out while the WRX was pretty much stock.
Althought the Momo steering wheel and racing pedals were a nice addition to the WRX.
So... no one's put the honda kit on their car.. or installed pedals? I just wanna know how difficult it would be to install pedals.

The pedals are fairly straightforward if you know what you're doing. I'm confused why you want them on an automatic, but that's your business.
The Honda underbody kit install is very simple. However, it involves removing both the front and rear bumpers. It was one of the first things I ever did to a car and I had success. Saved me $300 in labor, too. Plus it was a load of fun
Oh, and welcome to HAN

I'm assuming you'd also probably use the "and its faster than the Accord" argument, but since he has the 6 speed, thats not true. The 6 speed would pretty easily take a stock WRX, I have an auto(w/injen cai) and against my friends stock manual WRX I've beaten him twice, and he beat me twice(14.76 to 14.83 and 14.61 to 14.86). The interior is so tacky looking, and the exterior or the Accord is alot better.

The S2000 has "racing pedals" like that too...you're right, they do look a lot better. The S2000 has aluminum ones with circular rubber inserts for grip. Any pictures of the set you want to get?
03: I dunno about beatiung a WRX "easily". Your friend may not be a good driver (or maybe a consistent one), because WRX's have been known to beat the CL Type-S 6-Speed which is about as fast as the Accord 6-Speed. You have to launch them at relatively high RPM's with the AWD.
I got the blue color (I'm not sure of the exact name). It was a decision between that and graphite peral, but I just really liked the blue one. I wanted a red one, but it didn't come with a black interior, so that was out.
I ended up paying 2000 under the MSRP for it. I wanted to get it for under MSRP out the door, but they weren't willing to budge on that. It's okay though.
As far as the racing pedals... I'm not sure which kind to buy actually. I've only had a passing interest in cars, but I've gotten more excited about it now that I actually have my own car (although having a car payment and bigger insurance payment is that fun). The pedals bother me the most and I think that adding some racing pedals would give the car a real sporty feel.
As far as racing... the manual has a pretty good launch, but you need to turn off TCS to get it. I spun out a couple of times trying to get that fast start. The WRX I test drove always had a great launch and I love the sound of turbo kicking in. Alas though... it came down to the creature comforts of the cars that won the battle. Having to spend 2 hours each day in a car, I wanted one that would be comfortable. I mean the EX was pretty much a luxury car. And of course... when the dealer pointed out it had seat warmers.... BAMN... I was sold.. haha =o)
