What in hell the hell is happeneing to my paint? Is this some kind of UV (sunlight) damage?

 

Looks like some sort of clear coat failure. Nothing short of a repaint will be able to fix that.

 

nothing you can do. just sit back and watch the cancer spread.



i've got the same problem, but my car is really dark, and the peeling clearcoat is white, it looks really bad. i'm tempted to try a light sanding in the effected areas, and using a clear top-coat/sealer. if it works at all, i'll post the results here.

 

yeah, that paint is going, bummer. depending on how bad it is, you could probably get away with a temporary fix by wet sanding the area with really fine sandpaper and then go over it with a buffing compound to shine it up.

 

its all over the trunk lid near the H emblem and on the rear part of my roof too

 

ur paint is toast..... sorry man, but look on the bright side, you now have a legit excuse to get ur car repainted whatever color u want

 

Well I rather have repainted the same color. Since it matches the interior and maybe I could a little more money out of it when i sell it.
