I actually work for an Electronics store and trust me when I say manufacturers LIE! The specs that you see on paper do not mean jack! If what we saw on paper were true we would all be listening to Pioneer speakers since they outperform everything on the market based on the box specs. Additionally Alpine speakers are very inefficient and their component and type R speakers are among the worst that I have ever heard. The CD Players on the other hand are great.

Additionally if you have a five channel amp it may not be a good idea to run a sub at two ohms. Some five channel amps will share capacitors with two of the other channels. Additionally you will cut the life of your amp if you run it at two ohms. A decrease in impedence causes an increase in current draw and therefore creates more heat. If you have a high quality amp and must run the fifth channel in 2 ohm buy what is called a "Dual Voice Coil" or DVC sub and run the channels in parallel. :naughty:
